Don Enoch, owner of To the Point Sharpening, certainly has taken the long road to this point in his career as a knife and tool sharpener. Beginning with the construction of a home in Colfax for his parents after graduation from college, the importance of sharp tools became clear, if not painfully so, during his apprenticeship into custom house building. Over a multi-decade career in construction that included theatrical set building in Los Angeles and New York, as well as traditional custom home building from Connecticut to Seattle, Don has been intimately involved with tools and appreciates their effectiveness when well maintained, including sharp knives in the kitchen. Now retired from construction as well as a seventeen-year stint in teaching, he is more narrowly focused on the needs of the chef, the gardener, and the wood-worker, providing them with the sharpness needed to be effective, safe, and joyful in their pursuits.
